Visa is one of the strongest “TradFi -> onchain” signals for Ethereum-adjacent adoption because it brings stablecoin settlement concepts into mainstream payments infrastructure. In a Dec 16, 2025 Visa newsroom release, Visa reports >$3.5B in annualized stablecoin settlement volume and announces expanding USDC settlement capabilities for U.S. institutions–an example of stablecoins moving from crypto-native rails into large financial networks. As tokenization and RWA markets expand, Visa’s experiments and productization around stablecoin settlement can accelerate user-friendly onchain payments and encourage more institutional Ethereum infrastructure investments.
Key metric: >$3.5B annualized stablecoin settlement volume (Visa, Dec 16, 2025).
